The initiative for Bill Clinton trip to North Korea came from the dictator of that country. President Obama rather grudgingly agreed to it. It is difficult for him to support TV pictures in which he is not the super star. Remarkably, the trip, until taking place, was kept secret without public relations campaign, leaks to the press, blogs and kibitzers. It seems that old fashioned secret diplomacy can bring about results.
