Decent achievements in Afghanistan depend on the ability of the President to become member of the Class Too Dumb to Quit. Until now it appears that the President is a prisoner of the consumer marketing strategy of his top advisers, a strategy which never permits the President to take a stand on anything unless it was checked and rechecked by polls and focus groups. Success in Afghanistan and many other places, calls for leadership and integrity that are not replaceable by sheer eloquence.
