The same response, without the last paragraph, appeared as a response to Roger Cohen opinion.

In an interview with Jackson Diehl, the "moderate" Palestinian, Mr. Abas said that the former Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert offered him 97 percent of the West Bank and limited right of return, but he, Abas, rejected the offer. Contrary to Mr. Cohen, President Obama, I speculate, because this is written several hours before the speech, will make demands on the Arabs too. Part of his Muslim audience will mildly applaud the speech and ... reject it.Steps toward peace can be made by hard work in closed doors. This was initially the way with the peace with Egypt and the Oslo agreement; both began without the knowledge of the US. Public insistence on Olmert-Bush solution and claiming it is now a novel innovative approach leads nowhere. The US and the world has two expert negotiators, George Mitchell and Tony Blair, let them do the work without interfering every several hours with new contradictory statements and leaks.
The NYT article makes an interesting comparison between Mr. Bin Laden and Mr. Nethanyahu. So far Predators failed to hit Mr. Bin Laden. Perhaps Mr. Netanyahu is an easier target for removing at least one detractor of the President's speech.
