Man on the street

The President spoke to the main street in the Muslim world rather than to its official leaders. His message was that a better world, defined in simple terms rather than eloquent cliches, is possible. Working from the ground up, Mr. Obama, with help of his intelligent and wise strategists won the election. It is hard to predict if this approach will work in the Muslim world arena, however change cannot be achieved without the help of the man on the street pressing for it. As Mr. Peres, the President of Israel wrote in London Times, leaders such as Mr. Sadat and King Hussein were, can shortcut through the web of mistrust; unfortunately such leaders are not around in the Middle East at this time.
