Nuclear Iran is first of all an issue of America, because of Middle East oil, and of the Arab countries. Israel is mistaken in linking nuclear Iran with any other problem. Such presentation is not only wrong; it assures that the international community will do nothing to stop Iran of acquiring weapons of mass destruction.Strange as it may seem, peace in this part of the world will not be achieved by negotiating it with Mrs. Clinton or even with Mr. Obama; it has to be done with the Palestinians. At present it is hardly known who they are. Forty percent or more of them support Hamas, an organization which not only calls for destruction of the State of Israel, but also blames the Jews for the two World Wars, for the French Revolution and what not. If the Palestinians are able to unite, perhaps with the help of Egypt, Israel will become more than a willing partner for peace. Right now the Palestinians are unable to accept any peace proposal.
The hundred days of Mr. Obama are over. Everybody is testing him, Iran, Taleban, North Korea, Iraq, and even Mr. Netanyahu; is his presidency only talk with actions limited to adopting Wall Street bailouts initiated by the Republicans or is he a real world reader. In any event there are more urgent world problems than Israel and Palestinians and the enthusiasm of Mrs. Clinton is likely to fade.
