The consequences of fall of Islamabad to the Taleban would be much more serious than 9/11. The President, his Cabinet and staff should first of all talk much less and act instead. There are several countries which are potential allies in this state of affairs: India, Russia, China and Japan. Immediate intelligence and military operations must keep the nuclear weapons of Pakistan safe. Democracy, human rights and use or non use of torture, important as they are, can wait. If there still are some parts of the Army and Intelligence of Pakistan that are not contaminated by collaboration with Taleban, the US should work with them. If there are not, it must act alone with its allies. The President may tend to look for help from Iran. He should be discouraged from making such mistake.
