Paul Krugman on the Geithner plan

The Geithner plan reflects the basic assumption of the “moderate” economic team of President Obama. The underlying assumption is that the financial industry must be brought somehow by hook or by crook, into profits. The economic philosophy is quite similar to that of President Bush. Mr. Obama needs a new a more radical team with non-conventional ideas. Perhaps the public protest against the bonuses of A.I.G manager will convince the President to look for different people and ideas..
