Comment on New York Times editorial on the Army 12-28-08
Without the Army and the other branches of the military Americans would have been unable to maintain their freedom and way of life. The steps suggested by Time editorial are welcome, however more is needed. The pictures of protests against the bodies of dead soldiers not so long ago are still fresh in my mind. It is essential to change the place of the Army in the public consciousness in a radical fashion. The new President must take the lead in this effort. The fact that he was supported by the left and his desire to show that is going to be the mainstream President of all Americans will make the effort effective.
